Buddhism
Hello, here is a page about Buddhism.
What is it?

Buddhism is an ancient religion/philosiphy, first formed by a noble man named Siddhartha Gautama, over 2000 years ago.   He made the philosiphy, so he could teach people the way that he thought was right.   I'm sure most of us are very glad that he told everyone his teachings, for it is a very peaceful philosiphy/religion!

Some important things about Buddhism:

The Eightfold Path

There are eight important rules in Buddhism.   These are portrayed in a wheel.   They are very important rules for a Buddhist life.

Meditating

Medtating is a relaxing thing to do when you are angry, scared or sad.   It can be done in a cross-legged position, or in any other position really!   One important thing that Buddhists need to learn in meditating is to feel the mindfulness.   For Christians, this is the same kind of thing as the holy spirit of Jesus.

A poem I made with a Buddhist teaching.

Here is a poem I have written which also happens to appear in my Savannabug's stories section, which has a Buddhist teaching:

Everything is the same.

Rain may seem different to us,
but wea re both the same.
We are organisms in the world,
two ones to name.
Rabbits and stoats,
seem to stay seperate.
Yet in fact they are completely similar
in every imaginable way.
We are the same as the sun and moon,
wea re not unalike from everyone else,
on the rest of the world,
for we are all the same.

You can be a Buddhist too!   :-)

It's quite hard to become a Buddhist, especially if you find it hard to be nice to animals and people, but if you are ready to try, then I recommend it as a good religion to have.   Maybe if you study it a bit more, you can become one - of course you could easily not bother.   ;-)

Thich Nhat Hanh

Thich Nhat Hanh (pronounced Tick Not Hon) is a Zen Buddhist Monk in France.   He lives in a small village called Plum Village, where just about everyone practisices Thich Nhat Hanh's meditation.   He has written a good book called "True Love".
