For Aspies and Auties
I have Aspergers Syndrome/Autism and I'm sure this page will be great for anyone who has it too!   :-)

I'll add things slowly to this page but as I get to update this site pretty often I'll keep a regular update for you AS/Autistic people out there!

EVERYONE SHOULD UNDERSTAND ASPIES.

Sometimes we are regarded in the same way as retards, or stupid people - but we're not.   Why don't people look at what's the same, instead of what's different?   We ought to be regarded as equals in this world.

ASPIE SPEECHES

I am sure a way forward for Aspies is speeches.   Speeches have changed so many peoples' opinions throughout history, so I'm sure speeches would be able to make many more people understand/know about Aspeger's Syndrome.   I'm not sure who's willing to stand up, but it is a way to go!   :-)

STUFF ABOUT RAIN MAN

"Rain Man" is certainly a good film (oh BOY did Dustin Hoffman do a good job!) but unfortunately it has given loads of people a wrong impression about us Auties and Aspies.   We're not all like the Autistic man in "Rain Man", we're ALL different.   It's a good film to watch of course.

SUPPOSE YOU'RE NOT ASPIE OR AUTIE...

...and you want to learn more about it?   Just add a question in the guestbook and I'll try and get back to you on the guestbook as quick as I can (if I have an answer of course).   :-)

FOR ASPIE MATHS WHIZZES:

I understand that a lot of Aspies are very good at maths, so I've come up with a sort of "maths game" that you can do.   I'll tell you how it works.

On a piece of paper, write down the long multiplication sum, 32 x 32.   Once you've written down the answer, multiply that by 32.   Once you have your next answer, divide that by 31.   You can see if the whole thing is correct if the remainder at the end is 1 (actually in some cases if it has a remainder 1 it could just be wrong - but this is rare).   If you want to make ABSOLUTELY certain, do all of the previous sums on a calculator.

If you like, you can do many more of these kind of sums with bigger and more complicated numbers!   :-)

A GOOD ASPIE FORUM

There is a good internet forum for people with Autism, Asperger's Syndrome or similar, on Wrongplanet!   You can make your own blog, write to other Aspies, etc!   :-)
